Katie Taylor

A families experience of Malignant Melanoma

Katies Midnight Walk 2009

The Second Midnight Walk was well attended. The weather stayed dry and fine throught the night, and most of the registered walkers turned up. We had many walkers who had read about it in the papers and just turned up on the night with donations which was lovely.

All included (donations, just giving site and small bank balance) we raised over £3000

A very healthy amount when you consider the credit crunch and lack of money. Well done to all walkers concerned.  It was also very good to meet other people who had Melanoma, and those who had lost loved ones to Melanoma - it makes us feel better and remain positive that we are helping the future victims by doing this fund raising to find a cure for those who have not yet been diagnosed.

Donations can still be made via the "just giving"site until 2011 so there is still plenty of time for your donations to be registered and help research.

Join us for next years walk and make a difference.

The presentation night for the 24th August has to be cancelled due to lack of support; Apologies for any inconveniencies caused but unless we have notification that people need this service there is no point in paying out for something no-one will turn up for when the money can go straight into the research fund - which is whats happened in this instance.
